Immediate need for a project accountant in the North Miami area. This is a Hybrid role, 2 days out and 3 days in office

Responsibilities:

• Perform financial audits and ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulations
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
• Conduct bank reconciliations and manage cash flow
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely payments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial support and guidance
• Mentor junior team members and provide training on financial concepts and processes
• Utilize accounting software, such as PeopleSoft, to maintain accurate financial records
• Compile project draw requests to include AIA pay applications and consultant invoices to submit to lenders and financial partners
• Communicate regularly with construction team and provide them financial & accounting support for the projects
• Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
• Post and review approved invoices for payment
• Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
• Review monthly job cost reports to ensure the job is staying within budget.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of financial concepts, principles, and practices
• Proficiency in using accounting software and tools to perform financial tasks
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial calculations and reporting
• Solid understanding of payroll processes and regulations
• Experience with bank reconciliation procedures
• Familiarity with corporate finance practices and procedures
• Ability to mentor and train junior team members in financial processes
